1854 Motors did not begin with vehicles. The work first took mechanical form through 1854 Cycling: bicycles and mobility products shaped around employment, public safety and social consequence.
The form has changed. The central question has not: how can enterprise create the conditions for people to remain free?

1854 rejects the race to the bottom. Deliberate production, skilled work, responsible materials and permanent relationships require a different economic model, one in which value is created with consequence rather than extracted without it.

1854 Cycling began in a Framingham garage in 2016. It was built to create good jobs, including for people coming home from prison.
