1854 Motors

Vehicles for Change

“We’re not just building Vehicles. We’re building pathways to opportunity."

Our Story

1854 Motors was originally founded as 1854 Cycling in 2016 to create living wage employment for the formerly incarcerated. We built bicycles that broke cycles of recidivism, poverty, and injustice. Today, we still work in the service of our community. We still guarantee living wages for our employees, create technologies, and empower all of us to realize our potential. We welcome anyone—and only those—committed to this purpose without compromise.

“1854 Motors is for those who don’t just want to move forward—they want to reimagine what the road looks like.”
